Great find from TPM. It turns out that at the beginning of the media storm about S.C. gov Mark Sanford's disappearance, the right wing media was trying to help out the Sanford staff.
Choice quotes:
"If you all want to speak on this publicly, you're welcome to Washington Times Radio. You know that you will be on friendly ground here!"
From Fox:
"Having known the Governor for years and even worked with him when he would host radio shows for me -- I find this story and the media frenzy surrounding it to be absolutely ridiculous! Please give him my best."
Astonishing how in-your-face republican these networks are. Check out the whole story over at TPM.

Repub Class of '94 Ain't What It Was Billed
The Politico has a good article on the class of repubs who were swept into government during the "Contract With America" class of 1994. The basis of their contract was that of family values. Turns out, a good chunk of that class couldn't live up to their contract.
Standouts from the class of '94.
1. Mark Sanford- Cheated on wife
2. John Ensign- Cheated on wife
3. Mark Foley- Uncle Touchy Feely with the DC pages
The list goes on. Another interesting tidbit. The divorce rate was high for these freshman. Now, the article does explain that congress puts a huge amount of stress on a marriage but these guys preached about family values. Was it just a slogan to get to power?

South Carolina Governor Lost and Then Found
Governor Sanford of South Carolina adds to the woes of the GOP today with his reappearance from a six day disappearance. Upon his return he admitted to being in an affair with an Argentinian woman.
Sad for lots of people. As I have seen over the past couple of years with politicians admitting to infidelity or some other form of dishonesty, I realize that people who back these politicians (wives, supporters, or fellow politicians) are really betrayed. John Edwards's betrayal was probably the worst. He was running for president and had lots of backers from all over the country.
I wonder what the motivation for these things are? Is it really just sex?
