MSNBC Think Howard Dean and Michael Steele Are The Same
From MSNBC.
"Is Steele to the RNC and the DC GOP establishment what Howard Dean was to the DNC and the DC Dem establishment?"
This has got to be the worst analysis I have seen from MSNBC. Howard Dean was DNC chairman for about 4 years from 2005-2009 that gave us our huge gains in the house and senate. He started the 50 state strategy that got dems active in almost every county in the United States. It was the establishment that wanted him to concentrate only on certain areas of the U.S. and he said no. They want to concentrate on everyone. And it worked!!
We would not have the huge number of Dem house members. We wouldn't have the 60 seat senate if it weren't for Howard Dean
They really screwed up that comparison.

Crazy Right Wing Nuts Make Me Sick
Chicago (let me repeat that CHICAGO) lost it's bid to host the olympics after the first couple flew to Copenhagen to advocate for the windy city.
What really, I mean really, makes me sick is that the wingers are foaming at the mouths with glee over the loss. I read in Dailykos. It went from "America, fuck yeah!" to "Fuck America, yeah!"
I have been reading several different sites and one has a great compilation of the different quotes.
From TPM:
"As a citizen of the world who believes that No one nation can or should try to dominate another nation, I'm glad that the Obama White House's jingoist rhetoric and attempt to pay back Chicago cronies at the expense of undermining our relationships with our allies failed,"
"Chicago and Tokyo eliminated. No Obamalypics"
"Hahahahaha. So Obama's pimped us to every two bit thug and dictator in the world, made promises to half the Olympic committee, and they did not even kiss him. So much for improving America's standing in the world."
"The worst day of Obama's presidency, folks. The ego has landed. The world has rejected Obama,"
I cannot tell you how disgusted I feel by this hate towards one individual. So much so that these freak shows prefer to see America suffer for their grievances with our president. It is starting to become perfectly clear that nothing Obama does will get not just their support but the common decency any human being deserves.

Jon Stewart States Exactly What All Progressives Have Been Thinking
Jesus christ it is frustrating have a super majority of dems in the senate (60) and still have the dems dragging their feet on health care. Jon Stewart nails it on the head.

Right Wing Going Crazy
We all have been seeing it and I think people are starting to realize the beast that the right is creating.
"I have no problem with any of the substantive criticism of President Obama from the right or left. But something very dangerous is happening. Criticism from the far right has begun tipping over into delegitimation and creating the same kind of climate here that existed in Israel on the eve of the Rabin assassination... Even if you are not worried that someone might draw from these vitriolic attacks a license to try to hurt the president, you have to be worried about what is happening to American politics more broadly."
The right is in a tizzy and I don't see any elected republican leaders try to squash their hate. The blow hards are fanning the flames and no leader is trying to harness the hate.

Republicans Now Want 65 Senate Votes
More crap coming from Repubs. It seems the 60 senators needed to win passage of anything in the senate was just the start. Sen. Bob Nelson (R) wants the final health care bill to have 65 senators for it to be legitimate.
Says Bob "I think anything less than that would challenge its legitimacy."
I remember long ago, longer than some care to remember, when just 51 votes was all that was needed to pass a bill. My have things changed.
New Momentum For Public Option
As noted last week several senators have been putting up a ruckus about having the public option in the final bill. Today, there is a vote going on to add the public option amendments to the Baucus bill. Experts agree it won't get added to the bill in committee but the public option has several other areas where it could be added to a bill.
The senate floor could add the amendment or in bill reconciliation between the house and senate bill. The point being is that the progressives are mounting a huge fight to have a robust public option added to a final bill so that President Obama can sign it into law.
No longer are we hearing about co-ops or a trigger. In the news, we only see the public option. Which is critical to getting it passed. In August, it was put on life support. Now, it might make its way out of the ICU.
"The key now is momentum, and backers are doing everything they can to convey confidence that President Barack Obama will eventually sign a health care bill into law that includes some sort of government coverage to compete with private insurers."
It seems that people are starting to rally around the public option. Thank God.
